Would You Like to Help Preserve This Significant Historic Structure?
We are pleased to announce the creation of The Historic Hotel Leger Preservation Society, a membership program designed for individuals and businesses interested in supporting our goal of returning the Hotel Leger to its former stature as the most elegant and important hotel during the Gold Rush.
The Historic Hotel Leger Preservation Society is dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of the California state registered landmark #663, Calaveras County Courthouse and Leger Hotel. One of the first hotels constructed during the California Gold Rush, and still one of the longest continually operating businesses in California, The Historic Hotel Leger is rich not only in the history of the era but also in its long-standing tradition and importance to the community and region.
"To honor the historical significance of the Hotel Leger during the Gold Rush era, and to re-establish it as a regional community hub through restoration, renovation and upgrade projects."
