Why Mokleumne Hill, you ask?  Well, we could spend HOURS pointing out and talking about all of the things to do in this historic area of Calaveras, Amador and Tuolomne counties. What better place to set up "base camp" for a few days of relaxing and exploring?

Mokelumne Hill, the richest of the boom towns during the Gold Rush, is conveniently situated in the middle of the California Mother Lode on Historic Highway 49, "The Gold Chain Highway". Travel an hour or less in any direction, and you will find a myriad of things to see and do.
